How to include a sample set ranging between 024-C and 084-C

PostSun Aug 23, 2020 2:56 am

Good day,

I have two sample sets I would like to combine. One set consists of a manual compass of 61 notes (ranging between 024-C and 084-C - not the usual 036-C and 096-C) and a 32 note pedal compass of 024-C to 055-G.

Problem: The top octave for each rank (manual / pedal) is not generated when using the attributes below for the samples that start with 024-C. What should I do to avoid this problem?

For 61-note manual stops:
Rank.NumberOfPipes=61
Rank.MIDINoteNumberOfFirstPipe=24
Rank.Samples_MIDINoteNumIncrementFromPipesToSamples=0
StopRank.MIDINoteNumIncrementFromDivisionToRank=0
StopRank.MIDINoteNumOfFirstMappedDivisionKey=36
StopRank.NumberOfMappedDivisionKeys=61

For 32-note pedal stops:
Rank.NumberOfPipes=32
Rank.MIDINoteNumberOfFirstPipe=24
Rank.Samples_MIDINoteNumIncrementFromPipesToSamples=0
StopRank.MIDINoteNumIncrementFromDivisionToRank=0
StopRank.MIDINoteNumOfFirstMappedDivisionKey=36
StopRank.NumberOfMappedDivisionKeys=32

Any help would be much appreciated.

Best

Hello Pharny,

At what pitches should the two ranks sound (16', or 8', etc.) when played in the CODM?

What is the approximate pitch in Hertz of each of their 024-C samples? (You could determine that via an audio editor, such as Audacity.)

Those things determine how you would need to configure the relevant CODM Rank attributes.

Hello Martin,

For the sample set with 024-C starting values, the approx 024-C Hertz values are:
Pedal 16' sample (024-C): 32Hz
Manual 8' sample (024-C): 65Hz

For the sample set with 036-C starting values, the approx 036-C Hertz values are:
Pedal 16' sample (036-C): 33Hz
Manual 8' sample (036-C): 65Hz

Thank you.

Thanks, Pharny.

In that case (assuming you want the 024-C ranks to play at the same pitches as their respective 036-C ranks), then for the 024-C ranks I think you should just need to set:

Rank.MIDINoteNumberOfFirstPipe=36
Rank.Samples_MIDINoteNumIncrementFromPipesToSamples=-12
