File isn't in the correct installation package

PostTue Apr 20, 2021 3:11 pm

Hello,

I am doing my first steps with CODM.
I wanted to test whether I can use a sample of a protected sampleset. When I try, I get the message "The file .../036-C.hbw is not in the correct installation package. Moving or renaming this file is not allowed within the license ofr the sample set."

I don't move or rename the file. I reference the sample file in the codm file only. Does Hauptwerk want to copy the file? Can I not use protected files (I own the license)?

I ran into this trying to use CODM on a sampleset that turned out to be deliberately protected against CODM use. You might check with your sampleset vendor to see if CODM is permitted by your license terms.

That would be a pity, as it is only for your own use.

Hello vpo-organist,

In general, one can indeed use encrypted files within the CODM, but not if the sample set producer has specifically disallowed use with ODFs other their own supplied ODF. The error message you're getting indicates the latter applies for the samples you're trying to use, so you won't be able to use that particular sample set's samples in the CODM, I'm afraid.
Best regards, Martin.
