How to add MIDI to GEM classical pedalboard?

Hello all,

I've acquired a GEM Classical organ 30 note pedalboard. It has reed switches and magnets which are embedded in the pedalboard frame. There is still the original wiring which terminates in pins in the 3 plastic holders as shown below.

What is my easiest way to MIDIFY this?

You can remove the connector and terminate the wires on a MIDI encoder board such as this:

Hi Stewart,

Here is another way to do it with no soldering just clip the wires from the original connector starting with the wire to the lowest note. Strip the ends and insert them into the screw-down terminals on the bo34 and put the common rail wire in terminal 33 or 34, hook up the 34 pin cable to the bo34 connector and the other end to the mpc32mq. Apply power and play. After hooking up the MIDI cable to a MIDI input Yes it is a little more pricey but only if your free time is worth nothing and you have the tools and knowledge to use the cheaper solutions.

Hello all,

Just wanted to say I got my GEM pedalboard sorted with the help of a small amount of parts from MIDI Boutique in Bulgaria.
Their owner Jordan was extremely helpful and clear on what I needed - responding to emails and photos etc.

I managed to replace some dodgy reed switches myself on the original pedal board. Then stripped the wires from the original GEM connectors and popped each one into his screw terminal board, bought a plug pack power supply locally, connected a MIDI cable and it works!! Now that I've done it I'm happy to pass on details to anyone else who may need it.
