I have an L/P Mini in a drawer as well. It is perfect for assigning functions that aren't needed that often. Not sure how many folks realize the vast number of HW functions that can be assigned to MIDI. A Launchpad is the answer to these and being tucked away in a nice drawer makes it even more appealing.
For mine, I have assigned functions that save me from having to search or remember where in they are in the menus:
- Registration Copy & Registration Paste
- Bass coupler for each manual, really handy for when my kids or their friends want to try a piano piece on the organ
- All MIDI record & playback functions arranged in a logical set of buttons.
- Transpose up, down, & zero
- Numbered round buttons are for selecting particular favorite organs. Currently I've been flipping between three; a 2 manual Baroque organ, 3 manual French organ, and 4 manual English Romantic organ! So the numbers coincide quite nicely. I'm reserving button #6 for the upcoming Wanamaker sample set <grin>
- Round buttons with letters are memory levels which includes a few guest levels too.
- Several temp pistons. If I'm learning with a new piece or just want to try a few things out but want to keep my current memory loaded.
- Computer shut down (top left square button in red).
Several times I've walked up to guests who were playing and asked if I could record. It was a simple 3 button sequence: Reg Copy. Midi Record, Reg Paste, then go!
Anyone else have lesser known MIDI assignments they'd like to share . . . ?
