I use MIDI-Hardware.com modules by Roman Sowa.
A very recent order came within two weeks and the shipping cost was reasonable from Poland.
MIDI-Hardware reliably connects 5 shoes, 6 keyboards, and 120 pistons to my MIDI interface.

Oops! Almost forgot. If you are going to change the channel start number, also change it in this procedure:
        scanExpressionPedal()
and this line
    Serial.write (0xB0);                               //controller (channel 1)
e.g.  Serial.write (0xB1);                               //controller (channel 2)
changes the starting channel from 1 to 2.

Came across Sowa's boards in a small four rank pipe organ once. Very nicely engineered. I was impressed.

First time I heard about using dress maker pins, I quietly laughed at the idea. The only place I use them is where header pins aren't long enough. I've never had any issues with them tho They are very solderable and don't corrode like many keyboard contacts.

I use Roman's boards as often as they are available. He's had problems getting parts lately - hense we see Temporarily Unavailable.
