I've decided to start another instrument. This will be my Op. 3. I have a good idea in mind for what I want the final instrument to be....
I decided I wanted to build a Continuo after being inspired by Romanos.
I want this to be the most authentic Hauptwerk-based continuo there has yet to be.
The organ will be built
in its entirety by me using of a combination of Walnut and Maple, with physical draw knobs (with authentic tracker linkages), swappable draw knob face labels (to accommodate changing sample sets), all wood keys, a 16 channel internal audio system (custom designed and built just for this purpose). and a solid wood case.
I started by building the manual.....
The pins, springs, and contacts are on order and should arrive in a few days. Felt, washers, etc. have already arrived. I'm really hoping this ends up working as well as it looks. It looks good, but to be honest, I'm a little concerned about functionality.
Ultimately, once completed, I am pretty sure I will put this up for sale - as I honestly have no room or need for ANOTHER organ. But, if no one wants it, I suppose I will add it to the collection.
I will try to keep this forum up to date on its progress, but you can also keep up with it on my website by checking in once a week.
