Note Cipher diagnosis

PostMon Oct 11, 2021 2:25 pm

I'm not complaining since my Hauptwerk computer and keyboards, etc. have worked flawlessly for 14 years. Nothing I have ever owned has worked flawlessly for 14 years. But now one of my four Fatar CMK3 keyboards has a ciphering note.
To add confusion to the diagnosis process, the note in question only ciphers after I depress the key for the first time. It doesn't seem to be "on" when I first turn on the organ. The note only ciphers after I depress the key for the first time.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar situtaion and if so how did they fix the problem ?

If the cipher is the same note or few notes each time, it may be that the bubble contacts need to be replaced. Midiworks sells these in one octave sheets.

If it's more random, might need a replacement MIDI or USB cable.

These may work if that is indeed the problem. The PCB traces should be cleaned with denatured 90 proof alcohol using
q-tips.

Or here:

Use the 13 note version for the top octave of keys, 12 note otherwise.
