Music rack page holdbacks

PostSat Dec 11, 2021 6:21 pm

Sorry, I don't know what these things are called. I'm looking for the gadgets that attach to the bottom shelf of a music rack and swivel upward to prevent the music book from closing or falling onto the manuals. In my case, they would have to mount on a hardwood music shelf, and preferably be able to be repositioned easily for different music widths.

I'd appreciate any search terms or examples of related products (have to tell google something!). I'm currently using large clamps from a hardware store, which makes each page turn a 20 - 30 second operation to unclamp and reclamp both sides for books that don't lie flat.

Thank you.

Iain, those would do, but I can't find them for US delivery. I did find Katzklips and ordered some -- they might work, and if not, I'll use them on the piano.

Thanks!

In my experience, it's usual to provide four, rather than two, fixed clips to address this.

Just an update on the Katzklips. I asked how thick the music shelf can be, and they recommend no more than 12 - 13 mm. The clip opening is 14 mm. My organ shelf is too thick for that. So I'll use the clips on the piano and use the 4 brass hooks on the organ.
