DIY Ideas for tab control anyone?

PostFri Sep 26, 2008 4:59 am

I have been working on an idea for using tabs to control stop selection theatre organ style but don't want to go to the expense of sam's so have decided to use led's to indicate whether the stop is selected above the tab. Does anyone have any ideas about how this could be achieved?

I'm not concerned about the led bit that is easy enough, it's the mechanics of stop tabs and a switch mechanism that I am struggling with.

Have you thought of using momentary switches? That's what I've decided along with LEDs to tell me the status of the stop. I'm planning on using simple and inexpensive plastic push buttons. With spring-loaded tabs the same effect could be accomplished.

You could also get your tabs here: http://www.gino-midi.nl/EN/Mecha_pagina.htm at Euro 1,25 each.
