Finished Key cheeks and start of key desk

PostSat Dec 19, 2009 8:22 pm

Here are some fotos of the my finished key cheeks and the first preliminary assembly of my key desk. I ran out of 1 x 3 oak so I'm missing the piece that will be in front of the top of the knee panel. I have the oak plywood fro the top cut to size, it just needs to be doubled up around the edges. I found a nice cherry molding that I will edge the desk top with that I hope will help tie it stylistically to the cherry keys.

I have added a couple of fotos to the above set showing the key desk trimmed out and the knee panel in place. A little more sanding, a cable hole in the back of the desk top, some stain and tung seed oil and I;ll be ready to sell the Ikea table!!
