While "faster" is certainly nice, the new Mini should also be able to address 64 GB of RAM - a huge improvement over the 1st generation M1 chip Mini. This will be critical for Hauptwerk users.

The amount of RAM is critical.

"Insider leaker" Mark Gurman who has an excellent track-record for pre-release information has said the new MacBook Pros are in production. Supposedly (more leaks) they will be available with up to 64GB of RAM. Since the M1X is a SoC (System on a Chip), the RAM is incorporated with the CPU. It would therefore seem the same SoC will be available on the Mac-Mini also. However, also because of the SoC, the RAM can never be changed or upgraded, so the machine has to be purchased with the amount of memory that the user requires. Knowing what Apple has historically priced their memory at, it kind of scares me what a 64GB machine will cost. I'm looking forward to seeing these machines!
