scottherbert wrote:Drew, have you had a chance to look over Decwares DNA speaker plan? It uses the Mark Audio Alpair 10P driver in a folded horn and Steve claims it gets full bass to 20Hz and up to 20kHz. I don't know if it's a more complicated build than you want to get into, but it sounds like a good speaker maybe. Worth a look at least?

Yes, I have looked at it, but it does take on a little more than would be practical. I like the design and certainly admire it for home use - especially in a personal stereo setup. Undoubtedly a good speaker and certainly something I may look into in the near future. I'm hoping to find a good balance of performance, cost, and ease of build.
I saw the M&O Touring organ with Cameron Carpenter here in Indy this weekend, and I have to say that, by judging from his speaker setup, I am on the right track here.
After the concert was over, everyone cleared out of the performance hall, but since I am a recent graduate of Butler University (where Clowes Hall is located) I knew one of the stage hands and he let me browse and snoop for a few minutes. I took lots of pictures and have lots of good info. I am not going to share that information because I don't think it's wise and I respect the builder's intellectual property, but I will say, at least on the surface it confirms my theories.
Some great posts. Looking forward, everyone. Looking forward.
