aptX Low Latency

PostFri Jul 17, 2020 7:07 am

Is it reasonable to use Bluetooth Headphones with aptX Low Latency (and of course an audio transmitter, also with aptX Low Latency)? Or will there yet to much latency for Hauptwerk as was usually the case when using earlier Bluetooth versions?

With an advertised latency of 40ms there would be the same delay as having real pipes located about 12 to 15 meters from the console. I'd expect this to be a big improvement over ordinary Bluetooth but enough latency to possibly be noticeable.

That's my best guess without trying the aptX technology myself. Hopefully someone else has direct experience with aptX.
