Just curious, has anyone here ever used a high powered car amp to provide amplification for Hauptwerk?

Not sure why anyone would want to do that? :o For starters you would need an (adequate) external power source making for a larger than needed setup. Plus most car amps are limited to 2 or 3 channels.

Aside from the added complication of external DC power supplies and related cabling, I'd be more than a little suspicious of how clean these amps might be.

And any car passing your place within 30 ft would feel the rumble even with their windows rolled up.

A little known section in the driving while texting laws in Florida also prohibits playing the organ while driving. Although it would be a welcome relief from most of the other crap people push through their car amps and out into the environment.

Seriously though, if you happened to have a unused car amp lying around I can't see why it wouldn't work, although the specs might not be all that great. Of course you'd need a decent power supply, unless you've got a console with real drawknobs in which case you might have sufficient power already.
