Has anyone used in wall/ceiling speakers?

PostWed Mar 03, 2021 10:06 am

I'm considering many options for arranging a new sound system for a portative organ I'm assembling; I'm wondering if anyone has used in-wall speakers and whether or not they like the experience? There are some nice units that are surprisingly affordable (probably because you don't have to pay for a box to house the speaker?) and they are compelling options. There are particularly a few that are bi-pole or at least multi-directional which seems appealing.

Here is an post awhile back using Monoprice in wall speakers.

The caveat of this is you have to supply amplification. I've seen several multi-channel integrated PCB amps on the Parts Express website. I think these are targeted for DIY home theater surround sound. I've thought about purchasing one along with some passive bookshelf or maybe those Monoprice in-wall speakers to experiment with. However professional b-iamped studio monitors work so well for HW there isn't much motivation {:-)
