Free edition supports touch screen?

PostThu Oct 05, 2017 3:19 am

Hi guys!

I'm new here and new to virtual organ technology. I belong to the era of CONN

As such please bear with me for not being tech savvy and unfamilar to all the technical terms used.

I want to purchase a desktop computer to run this free edition with my Viscount and at present gethering all necessary information. Does this version supports touch screen monitors?

Thank you for your attention.

Hello Vincent,

Thanks very much for the interest.

Touch-screen drivers emulate mouse clicks, so from Hauptwerk's point of view a touch-screen 'touch' is no different to a mouse click. All editions of Hauptwerk (including the Free Edition) support mouse clicks and a single touch-screen. However, only the Advanced Edition allows you to use Hauptwerk across multiple touch-screens (e.g. with different virtual stop jambs shown on each of the screens).
Best regards, Martin.

thanks for your quick reply.

today i have tried using the free version on my vista laptop. i am using a midi cable from my viscount output port to the laptop usb, but there is no sound when i press the console keys.

in my laptop there is a miditzer virtual organ as well and that is working fine.

any idea what settings i have missed? my old laptop does not have a midi in port. i am connecting it via a usb port.

thanking you in advance.

Hello Vincent,

If you haven't done so already, please have a read through the 'Quick-start' section in the main Hauptwerk user guide (on the Help menu in Hauptwerk; pages 33-42 in the current v4.2.1 version), which covers how to enable your desired MIDI port(s) in Hauptwerk, load the organ, then use right-click auto-detection to detect your Viscount's MIDI settings/channels.
Best regards, Martin.
