Can't stop the stop noise

PostSun May 13, 2018 8:45 am

I am working on a new commercial sample set and am trying to add a 'stop noise on/off' switch to the sample set.

I have started by adding PercussiveEngagingSoundEffect_RankID (and the 3 others) to each stop in the CODM.

HW then generates an ODF with two extra StopRank entries per stop, looking like this:

All is good and there is a 'clunk' as each stop is operated.

Now I change three fields in the StopRank entries to look like this:

I had expected that stop 2504 (stop noise on/off) would change the behaviour when operating stops between 'clunk' and no clunk. In fact I now get no stop noise at all, whichever position 2504 is in.

I have checked that SwitchID 11353 is correct, by editing the ODF to make it do something else as well.

What am I missing?

Problem solved - the two ranks did not have samples for a matching set of note numbers. Now we can go from clunk to no clunk.

Hello Mirch4,

Obviously, you did not see my private message. I had a slightly different solution for you. Anyhow, you made it -- with a very smart and unconventional use of the alternate rank.

Best,
Chris
