Uploading MIDI Files from Contrebombarde problem

PostSun Jun 13, 2021 3:43 pm

Gang…

I’ve been downloading MIDI recordings from Contrebombarde onto an SD Card on my MacBook laptop. I’m then transferring them over to the PC run HW computer for upload so I can play them on the various samples they come from.

However, when I go to the file folder on my PC desktop and click on the midi links, its first saying something about “webloc”… which I figure wasn’t a good sign…. And sure enough when I went to actually click the link, it would not let me.

This can’t be a problem for everyone since I’ve not read any issues on it here, but…. Why is this happening and more importantly, how do I get to play these MIDI’s from Contrebombarde on my HW samples?

Thanks

Hi Pat,

I think the issue is how you downloaded them on your MacBook.

"webloc" is a link rather than the actual file (if you drag and drop the link from the web page it may be doing this)

On your MacBook/Contrebombarde you need to right-click or [ctrl]+click the midi-file link on the CB page and then "Download Linked File..." (or if you are using safari as your browser, a shortcut is [Cmd]+click which will immediately save the .mid file to your downloads folder)

Hope this helps the issue!

Thank you Jerry!

I was literally just dragging and dropping into the USB icon and taking it over to the PC my HW is running on.

I’ll try your suggestion!

Thanks
