My Hoffrichter console

PostSun Feb 14, 2021 6:20 pm

Hello !

Here is my second hand Hoffrichter console.
I own Caen Sample Surround, and Friesach, my main samples.
Caen is marvelous for Franck, Vierne, Widor, and so on, and Friesach perfect for JS Bach !

I'll complete my setup progressively, to get pistons, good expression/crescendo pedals, and a real piece of furniture to support the console.
For now, my Behringer foot control doesn't work so bad, and I'got the essential to enjoy !

About the PC (that I bought with the console, a Windows Seven), I am going to change the HDD for a much faster SSD, and I'll boost the RAM from 32 to 64Go later on.
Why ? Because the Caen organ needs 17 minutes to load  , and half for Friesach...
I am sure that I can improve the delays !

Moreover, it is a pity that Hauptwerk does not work with Linux, my daily PC is a Linux.

Last detail : my pedal is a 30 keys, parallel and flat, type 'classical german'.
Good for me : I learned on a flat and parallel pedal, so I prefer to keep this type.
In France most of the pipe organs have this pedal.

It's done, I have only changed the HDD for a SSD, loadings are much faster :

- 7' for Caen Surround instead of 17',
- 4'10" for Friesach.

A new life is beginning !

Very nice! Still seems like a long time to load...and this is after the cache is built?
