Hauptwerk 8 and Novation Lauchpad MK3 Mini

PostTue Aug 29, 2023 9:53 am

Hi
I just upgraded to HW8 a few days ago (advanced version). The great news is that the MIni MK3 Launchpad installed without any difficulty.

The problem I am having is that when I assign a stop in a sample set to a button on the launchpad, that works, but I am not prompted to set the color of the button on the Launchpad. And thus my launchpad never is lit, and never shows the stops I have selected. Have I failed to configure something in Hauptwerk?

I am assigning stops to the launchpad by right clicking on the sampleset stop, using autodetect, and pressing a button on launchpad.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Did you follow the directions on page 274 of the HW 8 Installation and User Guide, including setting the output port?

"On Windows: on the "MIDI IN ports" screen tab: "MIDIIN2 (LPX MIDI)" (N.B. not "LPX MIDI"), and also:
On Windows: on the "MIDI OUT ports" screen tab: "MIDIOUT2 (LPX MIDI)" (N.B not "LPX MIDI")."

It works with my Mini mk3 on Windows 11.

Thanks for pointing me to this section of the user manual.

I'll confirm that this is how I have it set up when I am at the church tomorrow.

I running HW on macOS, so will following that spec.
