Some of us use Cantabile to provide digital reverberation to our Hauptwerk computers, and the makers have just published a very informative free to download ebook on audio glitches and how to minimise them in Windows. See link below.

(I have no commercial interest to disclose - just pointing out a useful link sent to all existing customers).

I downloaded this last night after abaymajr mentioned it on my "glitch" thread. It's absolutely great. Really down to earth and easy to understand with step by step instructions and examples of where and how. I'll probably start with the troubleshooting document Martin directed me to, but this guide will help even with that.

Excellent guide to improve the audio performance of your PC.
After reading the pdf I observe that all the recommendations are aimed at solving a glitches problem associated with configuring or launching a Windows service, which must affect audio playback with a certain program and the associated hardware.
In my case, using HW4.2.1 on W7 64 with 32GB of RAM, 8 cores AMD cpu and a MOTU 828 MK3 hybrid sound module connected via USB2, the glitches appear continuously after starting HW4 and installing an organ sample set, and before selecting any register, or pressing any key. A month can go by without having this glitches problem, and one day it happens, having to close HW4, reopen it and install the sample set again. It is as if HW4 ever started up incorrectly, or that the MOTU 828 communicated poorly with the PC.
