Will V5 run well on, "A Vista 64 bit Machine ?

Will V5, Run well In My Vista 64, Computer ?
V4 Plays my V4 sample sets nicely in Vista !

This is very important to me as "My Entire Organ" is running on "Win Vista 64".

( I did not think that V5 would run on my Vista 64).
"Until I find out for sure I will continue to play Hauptwerk V4 adv. samples on my organ, as is" !

BTW I have been a Hauptwerker, since 2004, guess that is 15 Years ?

Good evening Mel,

Haupwerk V wasn't tested on Vista. On a PC, Windows 7 and Windows 10 are the two supported OS.

Regards
Best regards

Hello Mel,

To add to Francois' reply:

Hauptwerk v5 isn't officially supported or tested on 64-bit Vista. It will almost certainly work perfectly on it anyway, but we can't guarantee it. The position is that we will provide technical support for Hauptwerk when used on platforms that aren't officially supported, provided that the issues/questions don't appear to be related to the platform (operating system).

(If you do decided to upgrade to v5, my advice would be to wait -- hopefully just a few days -- until v5.0.1 is released.)
Best regards, Martin.

Has anyone gotten V5 to work on a Vista 64 bit PC? I just installed it on my old "summer" PC and the installation went OK but when I try to start Hauptwerk it replies with "The procedure entry point K32GetModuleInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.ddl." I assume this means it is never going to work and I'll have to try to revert to V4 or buy a more modern PC. Just checking to see if anyone else has had better luck with Vista 64. I know it is not a supported OS so I'm not asking for support from Hauptwerk staff.

Hello David,

Unfortunately I suspect that might indeed mean that you won't be able to get it to run on Vista after all. If your PC can't be upgraded to Windows 10 (or 7), the only other thing I would suggest is to try making sure that all of the latest Vista updates are applied (especially service packs). Conceivably some later Vista service pack might update it sufficiently.
Best regards, Martin.
