Could not empty folder error message

PostTue Mar 16, 2021 10:44 pm

Hello.
Ever since installing Hauptwerk V, the following error message appears when loading organs :
Could not empty the folder '/Users/mikeedington/Hauptwerk/HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents/TemporaryFiles/OrganinstallationPackages'. Please make sure that you are logged onto the computer with an operating account with sufficient priveleges (such as an administrator account) or try rebooting. Message code (for diagnostic purposes): 0059.
I'm able to load already installed organs, but cannot install any new ones.
Can any one help me get beyond this point?
Any information will be helpful.

Hello Mike,

My guess is that there is some file/folder within the last sample set that you installed that had a non 7-bit character in a file/folder name, or had some unexpected file permissions, preventing the file/folder from being deleted on macOS. Try rebooting, then (before launching Hauptwerk), use Finder to delete all files/folders within the following folder manually and completely (but not the folder itself):

/Users/mikeedington/Hauptwerk/HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents/TemporaryFiles

... then empty macOS' 'trash can' for good measure.

[In order to be see your OS account's home folder, make sure that the 'Sidebar | Devices | <your-os-account-name>' option is ticked in Finder's preferences.]
Best regards, Martin.

Emptying this folder worked for me, too. Many thanks.
