SteinMeyer Berlin Corrupted File

PostWed Apr 21, 2021 7:59 am

Hi Guys,

I received the download links this morning for the New Steinmeyer set.
However HW is telling me Steinmeyer Berlin V6.0-001535.CompPkg_Hauptwerk_rar is corrupted.
I tried a download again.... but same problem, same file.
Anyone else has this problem as well?

My donwload manager doesn't seem to want to work with wetransfer, and all the files are delivered via wetransfer, so I'm just curious if maybe the source material at OrganArt Media is corrupted....

Thanks ,

Cheers from Belgium

Little update: I tested all the files with the test-option of 7-zip (I don't have WinRar) and it tells me all the files are ok....
No errors found...

Hello Laurens,

I don't have experience with the sample set myself, but I'd recommend checking its MD5 checksum, if OAM provide a list of them to compare it with.

Also make sure that your computer's drive(s) have amply free space, in case the RAR extractor is giving a spurious error, e.g. due to lack of temporary disk space.

If neither of those solves it, after attempting to install it and getting the error, you could use 'Help | View activity log' to see the exact error message that the RAR extractor is reporting.
Best regards, Martin.

Dear professor,

I keep getting a "corrupted rar-file" error (even after multiple times download)....
This is the log entry in Hauptwerk:

"2021-04-21-14-25-18: INF:1220 Component installer starting to process package: 'E:/SampleSets/Berlin (Steinmeyer)/Steinmeyer Berlin V6.0-001535.CompPkg_Hauptwerk_rar' (10080312380 bytes) (9613.34 MB, removable media: N, auto-install: N, no additional multi-part files present in folder).

Strange thing is, when I check the archive(s) for error both winrar and 7zip tell me 0 errors found.

Could you help?

Cheers,

Hello Laurens,

I've downloaded and installed the Steinmeyer and had no error, meaning that the packages are ok. Looking at the log that you sent :

2021-04-21-14-26-12: INF:1164 OrganInstallationPackages/001535/M2-Prinzpalminor8/099-D#.hbw - checksum error

You can try to "Tools/ Repair..." the file with WINRAR. If you still have the problem, download again the file.
Best regards
François

Hello Laurens,

I've merged your new posts into your existing topic on this, so as to try to keep the topic in one place.

I also replied to the email that you sent us on it:

This is the relevant line from your log error that shows the error that the RAR extractor is reporting:

2021-04-21-14-26-12: INF:1164 OrganInstallationPackages/001535/M2-Prinzpalminor8/099-D#.hbw - checksum error

Yes -- that does indeed indicate that the file is actually corrupted or incomplete (unless conceivably your PC has a RAM fault, or drive fault). Hope you manage to get it resolved with the supplier.
Best regards, Martin.

Thx Francois,

mmm, wonder why my file keeps getting 0 errors when I check it with Winrar.
I'm currently 'repairing' all the files, hope that that helps.

I'll keep you posted.

Hey everyone,

Ok I succeeded in installing the sampleset.
But strange thing is that on the files that I initially donwloaded WinRar nor 7zip reported any error.
So I tried to repair the archive anyways with the repair option in WinRar... and ... EUREKA ... file *1535* worked!
So although I don't understand why 0 errors were found by WinRar and 7zip, the repair apparently did the trick.

Thanks again, now I'm going to enjoy some new SOUNDS :-)

Cheers

I'm pleased to report that I downloaded the samples for this set using Chrome on Windows 10. The downloaded files came to about 37.5GB - four large files (8-10GB) and a small (300KB) zip file.

Here are the MD5 values from my (working) download.

MD5 for data 001535 is 903bd552331b734ca77168f0eae2c096
MD5 for data 001536 is e293aa5d5c130867d78733e4d180e3ba
MD5 for data 001537 is 10eb590a9c909e26e3408e7dcad59b7a
MD5 for data 001538 is d9687151428bb241479789728a613759
MD5 for the ZIP file is 61fdac2ec3a8e629c3794aa956ffc462
