Hauptwerk 7.0 migration issues

I'm at my wits end trying to figure out why I can't upgrade to Hauptwerk 7. The first issue I'm having is I can't open the iLOK manager. When I click on it nothing happens. Deleting and reinstalling the app hasn't helped.

The second issue is I get a Fatal Error warning from Haupterk when I try to install it. It is saying that it can't be loaded. "The activation experience proxy app terminated unexpectedly. Consider reinstalling this software". I've done this multiple times and nothing seems to work. I'm on an iMac running macOS Ventura. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

That's an iLok system error, so I think that will simply be symptom of the underlying problem that iLok License Manager isn't installed/working properly. iLok License Manager needs to be installed successfully and be able to launch before Hauptwerk would be able to launch.

macOS 13 ('Ventura') is still very new (only released about 5 weeks ago) so perhaps there are still some teething problems between it and the iLok system, although PACE do state that the current version of iLok License Manager is supported on it. Some Hauptwerk users do use Hauptwerk successfully on macOS 13, and I'm not aware of anybody else having reported a problem with it so far.

Please try:

- Make sure that all available macOS updates are installed.

- Reboot the computer.

- Try uninstalling iLok License Manager again.

- Reboot the computer again for good measure.

- Try (re-)downloading the current version of iLok License Manager that's available here: https://ilok.com/#!home and (re-)installing that downloaded version.

- In case it's relevant, a search for 'Ventura' on the iLok website ( https://ilok.com/#!home ) found one FAQ article about a problem with (and work-around for) installing iLok License Manager (maybe related to Avid's Pro Tools): https://help.ilok.com/faq_home.html .

If none of that solves it, please try contacting PACE for support directly ( https://help.ilok.com/contact_support.html ) and then let us know if you've managed to resolve it after working with them. (If needed we could contact them on your behalf, but it's probably quicker for you to work with them directly.)

One last thought: if the macOS installation on the computer was upgraded from a previous version, or if you used the macOS installer's function to transfer settings/applications from another Mac, then it might be that the macOS installation ended up slightly corrupted/invalid somewhere as a result (which isn't uncommon), in which case performing a completely clean macOS installation (re-formatting the drive in the process, and avoiding using the macOS installer to transfer anything) might solve it.
