error on start: libxml2.dll not found

I'm moving to a new PC. Windows 11 runs. I'm trying to install Hauptwerk V7 (7.0.0.136). Install says it was successful. But when launch Hauptwerk, get system error message "pf107F.tmp', "libxml2.dll not found", suggests trying to reinstall. I did, same problem.

Internet search says I'm missing the dll but spooks me about downloading it without knowing the source, plus I don't know where to put it.

I found the dll on my old PC in C:\Program Files (x86)\HauptwerkJavaRuntime\bin, last modified 6/10/2015 10:41AM size 492 KB. Is that the right file? And where should I put in on the new machine, as I don't see the same folder there among Hauptwerk files.

Old PC is Windows 10, new is 11.

Hello Barry,

Please try:

- First check that all available Windows updates are installed. Check for updates, apply them, then reboot, then repeat until there are no more.

- Try (re-)installing the current version of iLok License Manager: https://ilok.com/#!home

- Verify that iLok License Manager can launch properly.

Windows was up to date, but I apparently didn't get iLok right.

Martin, I've worked with computer software for longer than I care to admit, and Hauptwerk has the highest quality and reliability of any I've dealt with. Additionally, few applications give more pure pleasure to their user communities than does Hauptwerk. Thank you for what you do and have done!
