Just bough a HP worckstation Z820

Ok workstation Z820 dual processor 16 cores, 256gb of ram. So I would need to get win10 Pro for windows to see all 256gb of ram? My laptop has win10 64bit, wish I could just put my laptop ssd in the HP. Also bought a used Planar 22in touchscreen.

EDIT: going to install win10 home, if I need more ram down the road I'll upgrade to pro.

I get install failed, trying to install and copy files to new ssd. Ive tried a few times, do I need to have the ssd in a certain slot?

Hello Jake,

The recommended way (and the only way that's officially supported) to move a Hauptwerk installation to a new computer is described in the "Moving your settings to a new/different computer or restoring them to your existing computer" section in the main Hauptwerk user guide (pages 32-33 in the current v7.0 version).

Alternatively, and not officially supported -- at your own risk, you may be able to move the following folders manually to the new computer, before running the installer on it and pointing the installer to the *parent* directories of their new locations:

HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents
HauptwerkUserData
HauptwerkInternalWorkingFiles

However, you may risk file permission problems; it's safer to do it the supported way described in the user guide.

Installed HW, Ihad to buy a pcie wifi adapter from Amazon so Ilok can connect and do its thing.
WiFi adapter says I need a newer version of win 10. Downloading win11 now, hopefully it will run on my computer.

At hospital with mom, nothing serious. Win11 said my processor wasn't supported, and I needed TP 2.0. I installed latest version of win10, WiFi finally installed. Hopefully will get a few samplesets playing tonight.

Went ahead and purchased two Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2 SR19H 2.7GHz 12 Core Bus 8gts LGA 2011 CPU's. Paid 38.99 each, didn't think that was to bad lol. I'm 8 core 2.0ghz at the moment. I love the 22in Planar touchscreen! Next I'll need to get me 2-3 61 note manuals, and somehow more than 13 stubby pedals. I'd better play the lotto lol. Wait I hope my power supply can handle them lol.

Dose the upgrade bug ever go away lol.
