Caen: deepest pedal note not showing/playing

PostSun Apr 14, 2024 7:58 am

Hi,

My pedalboard is working fine with all samples, but I noticed something strange when loading the Caen sample. The lowest C is missing: the pedal end on C#.

I tried to reconfigure the pedalboard it but somehow, the C isn't recognised. Once more: the C is playing perfectly well on all other samples.

What's causing this and how can I resolve it?

Many thanks,

Chris.

Hello Chris,

If you try auto-detecting its virtual pedalboard again, being careful to press the very lowest and the very highest keys on your MIDI pedalboard when prompted, does that solve it? (Auto-detection needs to hear the lowest and highest notes on the MIDI pedalboard so that it knows its range.)
Best regards, Martin.

In Organ settings | Keyboards | Pedal, what is the value shown for "MIDI keyboard/range lo key"?

If it isn't 036, use the V dropdown menu to fix it.

Thanks, Chris.

With the sample set loaded, please try:

- Make sure that the transposer is set to zero (=off) on the 'Pitch' large control panel ("View | Large floating control panels ...").

- On the "Organ settings | Organ preferences" screen make sure that the "Key order of keyboard bottom octave" setting is set to "Modern (all keys play conventional pitches)" (which is the default).

- Go to the "Organ settings | Keyboards" screen, select the entry for the virtual pedalboard in the left-hand list, and verify that its "MIDI keyboard range lo key" settings is set to 36 (as it should be if the MIDI pedalboard's bottom C was heard when last auto-detecting).

Does that solve it?

[Edit: P.S. Mark and I replied at the same time.]
Best regards, Martin.
