I have been using Caen exclusively in the four manual extended version of Jake for some time now. I'm not quite sure now if this will continue to work quite smoothly after installing the new version and uninstalling the old version, without any unforeseen problems. Has anyone tried this before?

What also makes me a bit unsure is whether my now quite extensive voicings and adjustments to room acoustics will be preserved, or whether I'll have to redo it all.

I bought Caen 2.5 two years ago from a reseller in Germany. In the meantime, however, I also have a direct account at Sonus Paradisi, but the new version does not show up there yet. Therefore, I assume that I must probably contact the reseller from back then, if he does not do so himself.

Thanks for helping and best regards,
Peter

I downloaded this update last night and found it hard to stop playing after trying out repertoire for over an hour….which is a good sign. The tutti has a much improved sense of spacial dimension..there is a marked difference from the previous version (which I confess I hadn’t played much lately because the sound would get fatiguing to my ears). Individual stops and smaller combinations also have benefited from this update. The sense of realism is more pronounced.

I didn’t have any problems downloading and all of my combinations, voicing settings and audio mixer routing settings carried over. Don’t hesitate to do the upgrade!

Hello everyone!

Does anyone know if the Caen version 2.66 is compatible with Aristide No.1 v.2. The Caen 2.51 is part of this composite set. Sonus Paradisi informs in the website that it is compatible with GSCC, but there is no reference to Aristide.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello Carlos,

Yes, you can update to Caen v2.66. It will work with Aristide No. 1 v2.

Hello, Chris

Thank you very much for your prompt answer. I did not want to risk the settings I have for the Aristide!

Chris Schmitz:::

Also can you advise how to make my Aristide sample 1v2 Simple Jam as easy to read as the Simple jam on your website for this sample.

Mine is very difficult to determine which stops are engaged.

Please refer to this Facebook post for a comparison of your website vs my actual sample photo of the Simple Jam

Hello Pat,

I posted a notice on my website that Caen v 2.66 is fully compatible with Aristide No. 1 v2 the same day the update was released: https://hauptwerk-organ.com/caen-266/. At this place, I always publish information that might be interesting for users of Aristide No. 1 or my extensions.

Would you prefer to be informed by email? I didn't want to spam you and wanted to save email notifications for "bigger" updates. In addition, you can always contact me directly via email if you have any questions.

Hi Chris….

Yes email is preferred.

I just want to make sure we’re on the same sheet of music here: Are we talking about the Thread Title: Grand Symphonic sample, or are we talking about the Caen?

Pat, unfortunately, things are mixed up in this thread. The title is "Grand Symphonic Cavaillé-Coll", but questions about Aristide No. 1 v2 have also slipped in. Both sample sets use Metz and Caen to create something new, but this is the only common feature.

Hello Chris,

Is it possible to implement the pipe coupling and pipe detuning feature in Aristide No. 1 v2? Caen sounds now really fantastic with this new feature, and it would improve Aristide also greatly.

Kind regards,

Alexander

May I ask the original poster: Do the demo’s have extra reverb added to them? My Grand Symphonic is not quite that much acoustics… which I wish it was.

Thank you.
