bad sounding sample sets because too perfect

PostFri Apr 30, 2021 4:17 am

Hi Mart

That’s great to hear and you’re most welcome.

Version 1.1 should be available very soon:

- More bug fixes.
- A work-around for Hauptwerk’s handling of the decimal separator. Thanks to Thomas H for that discovery.
- Save Rank List will now include all modifications to your rank list, not just the original full list (which was a bit redundant). Thanks to Carson C for that suggestion.
- Sample sets listed in perspective order (in Hauptwerk) can now be detuned almost N times faster, where N is the number of perspectives (since I’ve now discovered an undocumented multi-select method in Hauptwerk).

Thanks again for your feedback.

Kind regards

Unfortunately, I couldn't start the APP, the certification file was read in, but I don't know in which folder it is created and the application reports the error and cannot find the certification file. Can someone describe the exact process again, thank you very much for that

Dear Andy,
grandiose, together with Martins HW 6.02 and Jiris new samples one of the best Innovations for HW. The samples no longer sound regid, but appear lively. Thanks.
There are some difficulties to be considered during the installation, but these are now known and will be solved with help of Andy. Best regards.

Is this feature comparable with the Pipe Coupling feature in the last sample sets of Jiri? Or is it additional and can it be used together?

bad sounding sample sets because too perfect

Hi Arjan

I wouldn't say that my utility is comparable but it is totally independent of the Pipe Coupling feature (or any tuning related feature built in to any sample set) and so can be used in addition.

The key thing to remember is that my utility “simply” makes use of detuning adjustment facility in Hauptwerk’s Rank Voicing dialog.

I should mention that there are some recent sample sets e.g. Noordbroek that don't currently work with my utility for a separate reason, which I will fix as a priority. Briefly, there are issues with the format of the rank list that I need to take into account.

I will post a message here when a fix is available.

Thanks.

Hi Andy,

Is there any possibility to implement this feature on a Windows 7 installation?

Hi Marco

I've just had a quick look at making my utility compatible with Windows 7. It looks like it wouldn't take that much more effort to do that.

Once I've got version 1.1 released (for Windows 10) I'll look into it further and provide an update here.

It would be wonderful if someone could port this for Mac users . . . we'd like to be imperfect, too :-)

bad sounding sample sets because too perfect

Hi Lougheed

Although making my utility work on Windows 7 is my next task, I’m open to suggestions on making it available for Mac. I’m also a Mac user, as well as Windows / PC.

Before I started it, I did investigate the feasibility of cross-platform development but I decided, reluctantly, on Windows only for various reasons.
