SOLVED - IMPORTANT - sample set ID

PostMon May 03, 2021 4:02 am

UPDATE:
the problem has been solved. Please ignore the arbitrary ID codes mentioned in the message.

Hello everyone.
An important communication for all sample-set producers: since at the moment I have no way of contacting MDA directly for the assignment of new ID codes for the sample sets that I have in production and since a conflict between the sample set has been reported to me of the Ruckers harpsichord just released and another old sample set I decided to solve the problem by assigning the ID 006001-006099 to my sample sets - in addition to the ID 001181-01189 provided to me years ago.
I must apologize for this one-sided decision but at the moment it is the only way I have to avoid conflicts with sample sets from other manufacturers.
Thanks for understanding: a cordial greeting.

Hello Andrea,

You can contact MDA by its current main email address: support [at] hauptwerk.com. Please send an email to that address to be assigned any ID codes that you need. Francois normally handles that email address and he's very prompt and helpful and there's no charge for being allocated IDs. (He's in Canada, so there might be a delay of a few hours, due to the difference in time-zone.) N.B. Please under no circumstances release a sample set publicly that uses codes that you haven't been assigned since it may well break other producers' existing or future sample sets for users. Many thanks.
Best regards, Martin.

Thanks Martin.
Just to avoid problems I have arbitrarily chosen high numbers, but I will try to contact François as you suggest by sending him a list of the sample sets I am working on - overlapping with other producers is exactly what I want to avoid.

***EDITED after your reply****

Hello Andrea,

I don't know which address you used but I searched our support database and I have no ticket/email coming from you.

As Martin wrote, email me at support [at] hauptwerk.com. I will promptly send you a new range of codes.
Best regards
François

Thanks, Andrea.

When contacting us ( support [at] hauptwerk.com ) to request codes we don't specifically need to know which sample sets you're working -- just how many codes you need, since they're system-allocated automatically in batches. (Definitely please don't release anything with the codes you arbitrarily-high codes you mentioned, since that might overlap with others generated by the system.) Thanks again.
Best regards, Martin.

Thanks for the answers and the information: I am writing privately to Francois, also about the IDs you have given me in the past.
Of course I haven't distributed anything with arbitrary ID codes yet - I thought it would be better to communicate this somehow before doing so.

Thanks to you Martin and thanks to François for the promptness with which he responded to my request. The problem has been definitively solved: I hope that my future publications can contribute to the diffusion of Hauptwerk.
