Tuba Magna at St. Ouen?

PostThu Dec 23, 2021 1:59 pm

I own Notre Dame de Metz, which I really enjoy, but am intrigued my the Aristide No.1 and the Grand Symphonic Cavaille-Coll sample sets. My question is regarding the Tuba Magna 16, for which a similar stop isn’t present on either of the two sample sets that comprise these composites. How does it sound in the composites compared to real life? Is it more like a British Tuba, or a more typical Cavaille Coll Trompette just winded on a lot of air? How would the composites have created this stop? Thanks!

It's a full length Bombarde 16'. Nothing like a english solo Tuba. It has also the same wind pressure as the rest of the Récit.
