New release: The famous Baumeister organ from Maihingen

PostThu May 05, 2022 1:03 pm

Dear all,

I am very happy to announce a new addition to the Pipeloops Signature Series: The famous Baumeister organ of the monastery church in Maihingen, Germany.

This organ is a unique testimony of baroque organ building, as there is probably no other sizeable instrument from the baroque period being in such original state. In this case the preservation of the organ without any modifications is due to a very special fate of the church and the organ inside of it: When the monastery was secularized in 1803 the organ was physically sealed and remained basically untouched for nearly 180 years until it was faithfully restored and put back into working condition in 1990.

Please check out the detailled information provided on our website. First demo pieces are available on Contrebombarde with more to come.

Best regards
Reiner

I would like to draw attention to a very competent presentation by Christoph Bossert

Yes, this is a fantastic video indeed. Unfortunately it is in German, but the music presented there is speaking for itself.

In the meantime, I have bought the set. The organ is a great southern German treasure. The money is really well invested.
I know of no comparable instrument. What's more, it's practically on my doorstep. Simply beautiful! Bravo Reiner!
