Re: Arnstadt - Bachorgel Sample Set

Having come from the Groningen province and having played many historical organs there, including the Hinsch Midwolda, all I can say that this sample set by SP sounds strange to me, as if a vacuum cleaner is sucking up the sound. I tried the demo, and was not happy with what I heard.

In this assessment, I am not alone, as several people have also placed questions marks to this set.

The Arnstadt organ is of course not really a "Bach organ", as he didn't design it or specify its stop list. he just happened to play it for a few years. Furthermore, very little original material has survived and despite having its original spec list restored, the question remains about how close it is to Bach's time in sound. Here I personally place some question marks.
