Bovenkerk Hinsz - Volume 3 Released

PostSun Aug 16, 2009 1:52 am

Dear all,

Here is a sneak peek of the Bovenkerk Hinsz main console display screen for volume 3.

Some minor details are still being tweaked, so some items may change slightly before the release. Of course the full view and dual left/right display screens will be available as well as they are in volume 2.

I aim to have some preliminary demos forthcoming very soon. Thank you for your patience while we continue to get the final volume ready for its release. It is looking that it should be available in September.

I hope you like the 'newly built' console!

Very nice, Brett. I especially appreciate the true perspective views on the keyboards. I know it's a ton of extra work to make keyboards work this way, but it's so nice to see a departure from ye 'ol photo of console with flat keyboards.

Hi Brett,

I really like the console view!

I look forward to the release of this last part.

Is there already more news about Bovenkerk Hinsz volume 3?

Hello Brett,

I grew up in holland and have been to many, many organ concerts as a teenager.
At the age of 19 I came to Canada.

Believe me, Brett, the Kampen organ holds a very special place in my heart!
And I can tell you that the demos stir up in me the same emotions as the real instrument.

This sample set is on my "to get list" as a must have.
Keep up the excellent work.

Best Regards,

Yes, very excellent and my congrats!

Now, all we need is the piece that made this instrument rather famous here on Hauptwerk .. and that is the Psalm 146 Toccata by Jan Zwart - which I heard now that it's a rather hard piece to find anywhere.

I think they will release it on the 19th of September. This because volume 1 was released on this date a year ago, so there is exactly a year difference in the release between volume 1 and 3.

With hard to find, do you mean the recording or the sheet music? Since Jan Zwart died in 1937, his sheet music should be in the public domain now, so I'm sure someone who has a copy would be willing to post it somewhere? I just checked my music collection, but unfortunately Psalm 146 is one of the ones I don't have.

Since Jan Zwart had sons, who became famous organists as well, and since they had sons, etc., I think the entire music collection is protected by this Zwart family, and will not be in the public domain for some time to come.

But the sheet music for Psalm 146 is available from:

Adri,

If the Zwart piece in question was published in 1922 or before, it is by definition in the public domain in the USA.
