Hi Jim,
I am not sure if you have read the section under Known Bugs on the website here. Here it is:
HW2-000402: Component installer may appear to have frozen when installing very large sample sets.
In Hauptwerk version 2.20 onwards, when you have selected a component package to install using the 'File | Install organ, sample set, temperament or impulse response' menu function, Hauptwerk's component installer first copies the whole component package file to a temporary location on your hard-disk before attempting to extract it. During this initial copying process the message 'Please wait whilst the organ is loaded and prepared for use on your system' is displayed, with a progress indicator beneath it. However, with extremely large component package files of several gigabytes, the progress indicator may stay at 0 percent throughout the whole process. Since copying a file of several gigabytes may easily take ten minutes or more, it appears that Hauptwerk has frozen. However that is NOT the case. Please simply wait as long as necessary (the CD/DVD drive activity light should continue to show activity) and eventually the extraction process will start, unless an error is reported reading the CD/DVD. Thus the component installer works perfectly, apart from the fact that the progress indicator does not show activity with extremely large files. This problem is related to the way that the size of such files is reported incorrectly by some Windows functions, and the problem does not affect Mac OS X.
Please just allow the window to remain open without clicking anything or CTRL ALT Delete, it should eventually get through the process and work fine. Please let me know if not.
Thank you.
