Moving HW 4.2.1 to a new computer

PostThu Apr 15, 2021 2:14 pm

I have been asked by a fellow licensed HW user to help him move HW 4.2.1 to a new Intel NUC because his old computer is dying. He is happy with HW 4.2.1 and does not particularly want to upgrade beyond the HW and POW 332 he has licensed.

He purchased a new 10th gen I7 NUC running Windows 10. The problem is that the NUC initially seems to recognize the HW Key (the Red LED comes on during initial boot) but the LED goes out after about 10 seconds and after that, Windows does not recognize the HW Key and the Red LED does not light again, no matter which USB port is used. When you plug in the HW Key, you hear a faint "bleep", but there is no indication that it is active and the Device Manager does not show it. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the Driver, without success. USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 Flash drives are recognized and read.

Would appreciate any thoughts and suggestions.

Have you installed the "Sentinel_LDK_RTE_Installer" for Windows? This is required before Windows will recognize the Sentinel dongle.
