By positions I don't mean layout - I've got that sorted.
What I would like to know to know is how far back from the fronts of the keys above them the pistons should be, and how far below, as well. I am quite bemused that there seems to be nothing (that I've been able to find in a search) on the Internet that has this information!
Thanks,
Paul
Preferred positions of pistons.
Re: Preferred positions of pistons.
There is information regarding the preferred vertical and back-to-front spacing of keyboards, and the left-to-right layout of pistons on the key-slip or piston rail:

https://www.organworks.co.uk/news/wp-co ... layout.pdf
But as regards vertical positioning of pistons or how far forward they may or should project, I think you are pretty much governed by the geometry of the keyboard stack as determined by the above recommendations, the design of the pistons themselves, and common-sense.
In other words, what looks and feels OK is OK! I'm not aware of any "official" standards.

Re: Preferred positions of pistons.
I have a dreadful habit of playing too far up the keys and inadvertently hitting pistons, so my vote is "as far away as possible"!
