Cloning specific combinations to new set?
Is there a way to clone only selected combinations to a new set? I would like to move about 20 combinations from Combos01 to Combos02.

Hello David,
Provided that you keep the organ loaded, and don't do anything that would stop/start MIDI (such as opening one of the preferences or devices screens), you could potentially copy those combinations one-by-one using the 'Copy reg' and 'Paste reg' functions, switching between combination sets in-between. I.e.:
- Load the 'source' combination set is loaded.
- Trigger/recall the first combination.
- Use the 'Copy reg' function.
- Load the 'destination' combination set (whilst keeping the organ loaded/active).
- Use the 'Paste reg' function.
- Capture the registration to the desired destination combination.
- Re-save the combination set.
- Repeat for the others.

Re: Cloning specific combinations to new set?
Would it be quicker to load the source combination set, hit general cancel and set the pistons/combinations you don't want to start out with in the new combination set to be empty, and save to the new combination set?
Re: Cloning specific combinations to new set?
Hello Mark,
Yes -- you could do that, provided that you didn't already have some combinations in the destination combination set that you wanted to preserve.
Actually, I've just realised that (even if wishing to preserve some combinations in the destination combination set) my instructions had some unnecessary steps (I thought that loading a combination set cleared the current registration, but that isn't the case in recent versions of Hauptwerk). I just checked, and there's no need to use the copy/paste functions. You could instead:
- Load the 'source' combination set is loaded.
- Trigger/recall the first combination.
- Load the 'destination' combination set (whilst keeping the organ loaded/active).
- Capture the registration to the desired destination combination.
- Re-save the combination set.
- Repeat for the others.

Also…
If you want to copy combs20 to combs21, combs19 to combs20 and so on, you could
use CLONE FROM (page 81 of the HW ix manual)
Open the Registration Tab. (Touch Menu | Registration).
Load combs21 (even if it is empty),
Press CLONE FROM
A dropdown list of combs files will appear
select combs20 from the list
Press OK. The list will disappear and combs copied, replacing the current registration (combs21) with the registration stored in combs20.
Press SAVE.
Load combs20.
Press CLONE FROM
Select combs19 from the dropdown list.
Press OK.
Press SAVE.
And so on…
