Confused by 'Perspectives'

I think perspectives are supposed to work like this:

Each "perspective" is one pair of stereo speakers. The options on the voicing screen allow you to pan each pipe to anywhere in that space.

Having said that there are other uses. The HW audio system is nothing if not flexible.
