I can't find the email (although I have no doubt he sent it). Nothing in my spam folder. Indeed, I have an email filter set up to route anything from @hauptwerk.com to a special folder.

I'd be grateful if he would resend it, and I'll keep an extra eye out for it!

Operating on the assumption that his email, in essence, says "It's fixed", I logged on to my Hauptwerk account and tried downloading the tool -- successfully.

Oops, I spoke too soon,. It looked like it downloaded something, but nothing in the Downloads folder. I tried again, and I'm getting "file not found" this time.

Apparently I still need the email.

Hi,

Just resent the reply.

Please check your spam folder. Also, note that the support email domain is coming from @hauptwerk.zendesk.com

To summarize, there is nothing to download. The license migration package will allow you to upload and have your migration file processed.. Once your license migration file is created, upload it at https://www.hauptwerk.com/licensemigrationform/ and your licenses will be deposited in your account within 48 hours.

I logged onto my iLok, wondering if my license magically appeared. It did not.

I also tried loading my Freiberg organ, wondering if now some new option would appear for me to migrate it to iLok. Nothing there either.

I'm really trying here...

- Exit Hauptwerk if it's running.***CHECK***

- Make sure your iLok dongle is attached to the computer, or that your iLok Cloud session is open within iLok License Manager (if you use iLok Cloud instead of an iLok dongle).***CHECK***

- Make sure that driver for the v4 Hauptwerk USB Key is installed (if it isn't already):
------- Windows HASP run-time environment GUI installer: https://supportportal.gemalto.com/csm/? ... =KB0018320 ***CHECK***
------- macOS HASP run-time environment GUI installer: https://supportportal.gemalto.com/csm/? ... =KB0018323

- Make sure your v4 Hauptwerk USB Key is attached to the computer. ***CHECK***

- Launch Hauptwerk v8 ***CHECK***

- Use the option on the "File" menu in Hauptwerk v8 to migrate your v4 sample set licences to v5+. Send the resulting file to support[at]hauptwerk.zendesk.com . Francois (who handles that email address) will then deposit licences for all of your v4 sample sets to your iLok account. Activate the resulting licences to your iLok dongle or iLok Cloud (as applicable).

The File menu won't show the license migration option unless your HW4 dongle is recognized by Windows before HW8 starts. Look at Device Manager to see if it's there. Installing the HASP driver may have failed, or the dongle may not have seated in the USB port, or some other fault.

I've groveled around in Device Manager a fair amount, No luck on HASP. It's definitely not any of the parent nodes.

I reran the HASP installer, which completed without error. Same result. (Or lack thereof.)

Hello William,

Please first try rebooting the PC for good measure, keeping the Hauptwerk v4 dongle attached to a USB port directly on the PC (or if it that isn't possible, then make sure it's attached via a USB hub with its own mains power supply).

With a Hauptwerk v4 dongle attached to my Windows 10 PC, in Device Manager under "Universal Serial Bus controllers", I see the following three entries for it:

- Sentinel HASP Key.
- Sentinel HL Key.
- Sentinel USB Key.

Does your PC have those entries?

If not, is the red LED lit within the dongle? (That should indicate whether its driver is 'seeing' it.)

I rebooted the machine.

There are still no 'Sentinel' devices under 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' or 'Universal Serial Bus Devices'.

In that case, probably the v4 dongle has simply died, so please:

- Take a digital photo (e.g. on a smart-phone) of the Hauptwerk v4 dongle, showing the numbers printed on it.

- Physically break the dongle, e.g. by snapping the plug off it.

- Take another digital photo showing the destroyed dongle, as proof of its destruction.

- Email both photos to Francois ( support[at]hauptwerk.zendesk.com ) and ask him to deposit the Freiberg Dry sample set licence manually to your iLok account, telling him your iLok username (not the password). (There might possibly be a small delay on that, given that it's currently Sunday.)

What does a Hauptwerk dongle look like? I have several dongles.
