I run Hauptwerk on a Mac. Is it possible to control Garritan Aria player with volume and transposition from Hauptwerk? Is that what the IAC driver is for? Is there a simple way of doing this.
What are the Paramount MIDI stops for?
Controlling Aria from Hauptwerk
Re: Controlling Aria from Hauptwerk
Hello Frank,
I don't have first-hand experience with any Garritan products, but it's probably possible to control it via MIDI output from Hauptwerk, if a little fiddly (especially if both are running on the same computer, because you would need to use AU/VST or avoid contention for audio and MIDI devices between the two).
You can potentially configure MIDI output (whether via a real MIDI OUT port, or macOS' IAC Driver, or via AU/VST) from Hauptwerk's virtual keyboards and/or master volume control, and/or virtual expression pedals.
I may have to leave that one to you or others if you do want to try it, I'm afraid.
[I'll move this topic to the "Audio / MIDI interfacing" section of the forum once you've had a chance to read it.]

Paramount 341 MIDI stops
How are they to be used?
Re: Controlling Aria from Hauptwerk
Hello Frank,
[Topic merged with your previous one, to keep the discussion in one place, and moved here.]
To use the Paramount's MIDI stops:
- Go to the "Organ settings | Keyboards | Primary output" screen tab, select one of the "... MIDI OUT" entries, and configure MIDI note-on/off output from it (using your desired MIDI port and channel).
- Now whenever the corresponding virtual 'MIDI' stop tab is turned on the virtual division will send MIDI note-on/off output as the division is played, on the MIDI port and channel you selected for it.
